CSRM “kick-off lunch” jumpstarts ITBCC-2019 campaign
Representatives from Canadian Tape Ball clubs, prominent media and business personalities attended the “kick-off lunch launching ceremony” of Taza-First Canadian International Tape Ball Cricket Championship. The event was held and sponsored by the Karahi Point restaurant. Among others.
Event was jointly conducted by known community members and CSRM officials Farrukh Siddiqui and Farhan Hashmi. The presentation provided insight into CSRM’s vision for promoting and organizing healthy recreational activities for local community with the help and assistance from business sectors. To further this vision CSRM would be holding its first event “ITBCC-2019” at the CAA Centre Brampton on September 14-15. The event would be biggest of its kind ever in the history of Tape Ball Cricket with the goal of attracting over 36 teams and hundreds if not thousands of players, supporters and cricket enthusiasts. Championship to be played on four grounds for two days under supervision of professional cricket officials. The event will complimented by “Funtastic Family Festival” which is being planned in conjunction, to attract families to the event. This year event would be supported by renowned Pakistani Brand Taza as a title sponsor along with Crispy as a platinum sponsor. Providing insight into the history and prominence of tape ball cricket, Farhan Hashmi explained the evolution of the sport in a social context. Although very popular but largely neglected due to the non availability of facilities, the sport has remained informal. CSRM feels that there is a great potential to promote and provide a meaningful platform to the hundreds of people specially our youth and kids. Thus is the vision behind the ITBCC-2019.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Shahab Hassan the CEO of Pak National Foods (Taza), appreciated the efforts of CSRM and reiterated his commitment to provide necessary support for this and future events.
Mr. Imran Samdani speaking on behalf of TWI Foods (Crispy) extended heartfelt appreciation and support. Himself a tape ball enthusiast, he echoed and reflected upon the vision of CSRM.
